Tay Oskee / Brook St
KONZERT

Brook St are a husband and wife folk duo from the Sunshine Coast, Australia. Since the duo’s inception in January 2023 they have covered a lot of ground taking their harmony based storytelling around Australia and Europe. They have released two EPs and a string of singles, one of them claiming the number 1 spot on the AMRAP Australian Regional Charts for 4 weeks straight. Their shows are a fun yet real journey through musical reflections on life’s ups and downs, taking influence from artists such as The Paper Kites, Simon & Garfunkel, John Denver and Angus & Julia Stone.
This husband and wife duo consists of previously solo artists Hannah Olivia and Jason Daniels. Both of them reach into their pasts to find inspiration and stories that they tell through their music. Jason spent 2 and a half years living and recording music with the Yolngu people of North East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. Much of his writing reflects on these times, and often will include a special song during the show sung in the indigenous language of Djambarrpuyngu. Hannah lived in New Zealand in the far south of the southern island and writes retrospectively about her time there on the beautiful cold coastal country surrounding Dunedin.
After their marriage in 2021, neither of their solo projects felt right to continue and it wasn’t long before they started writing a new generation of songs together, and so Brook St was born, named after the street in Brisbane they’d always park on every time they went adventuring in the city. After releasing their first EP they hit the road opening for a string of indie folk artists including The Dreggs, Blanco White, Tay Oskee, Austin Mackay and Fanny Lumsden.
After 3 Aus East Coast tours, 1 Entire Aus tour and a 2 month tour in Europe they returned home to record and release their second EP (titled: let’s build a house) in early 2024. This release was followed up by 2 collaborative singles, one with Jesse Taylor, a fellow Sunshine Coast local, and one with folk duo Northwest Stories hailing from the USA.
Most recently Jason & Hannah have had their first child, a beautiful daughter called Willow. She is sure to be a big part of their songwriting inspiration and drive to do their very best with the performing and songwriting tools they have.
At only 2 years old, Brook St’s best days a surely still to come.
